  • You can access funds in your primary savings account through the ATM network.  You cannot make purchases with your VISA debit card using the funds in your primary savings account but you can transfer funds from your primary savings account to your checking account.

What is an ATM access fee?

  • An ATM access fee is a fee that Ohio Catholic is charged for its members to use a foreign ATM (a non-Ohio Catholic or non-Ohio Catholic CO-OP Network ATM).  Ohio Catholic passes a portion of this fee on to its members.  Foreign ATM owners may also charge an ATM surcharge fee.  See Fee Schedule.

What is an ATM surcharge?

  • An ATM surcharge is a fee that a foreign ATM owner (a non-Ohio Catholic or non-Ohio Catholic CO-OP Network ATM) charges people for the privilege of using their ATM.  ATM owners who do charge a surcharge are required to disclose the surcharge fees before you complete the ATM transaction.  If you don’t want to pay the surcharge, simply cancel the transaction.  Please note Ohio Catholic is not charging this fee and has no control over the amount charged.

When will my ATM deposit be credited to my account?

  • Holds are placed on all deposits made at all ATMs.  Deposits are processed each business day.  Funds will be available between the second and the fifth business day following the date of deposit.  If an extended hold is required, Ohio Catholic will notify the member.  Business days are Monday through Friday.  See Ohio Catholic ATM Hold Policy for more details.

Can I make a deposit at an ATM not owned by Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union?

  • Yes, you can also make deposits at PNC ATMs and participating Alliance One ATMs.  However, we can’t guarantee how long it will take another financial institution to send your deposit to us for processing.  If you enjoy the convenience of making ATM deposits, but need the deposit to post in a timely manner, make deposits at an Ohio Catholic ATM.

Why are there periods of time when I am limited to the amount of money I can withdrawal from an Ohio Catholic or CO-OP ATM?

  • ATMs are taken offline for balancing and updating.  During the offline periods, the ATM network will only let you withdraw $105 daily from the ATM machine and $200 in P.O.S. transactions.

How is a Point-of-Sale (POS) transaction different from a Purchase transaction with my Visa Debit Card?

  • Point-of-Sale (POS) retail transactions can be made at locations that display the Cirrus, PLUS or STAR logos.  POS terminals can be found in most grocery stores, convenience stores, gas stations, and many retail outlets.  POS transactions are processed as debit transactions through the POS network and you are required to enter your PIN.  Purchase transactions (or non-PIN transactions) can be made anywhere the VISA logo is displayed.  Purchase transactions are processed as credit transactions though the VISA network and you will be require to sign a receipt.  The transaction will still debit your checking account the exact same way.  So if the POS system is down, you may be able to complete your transaction through the Visa system because it’s a separate network.

What is a non-PIN purchase?

  • Any transaction that does not require you to enter your PIN is a considered a non-PIN purchase.  These transactions are processed by Visa, but are still deducted directly from your checking account.  They are considered non-PIN purchases when you:
    • Present your card to the merchant and sign the receipt.
    • Swipe your card at a keypad, press “credit” and sign the receipt.
    • Use your card to make a purchase on the Internet, by phone or at the gas pump.
    • Make automatic bill payments, such as your phone bill or Internet service provider.

How soon after I make a POS or a purchase transaction will I see that amount deducted from my account balance?

  • Point-of-Sale (POS) retail transactions are processed as debit transactions through the POS network and will deducted from the account immediately.  Purchase transactions (or non-PIN transactions) are processed as credit transactions though the VISA network and could take up to three days for you to see the deduction from your account.

How many tries do I have to get the correct PIN?

  • You have three tries to get your PIN correctly entered into the ATM.  For your security, if your PIN is entered incorrectly three consecutive times, you will be locked out by the ATM machine.  You will need to contact the credit union to reset your PIN.  Your card will be available for use 24 hours after PIN is reset.  You may reset your password via email, fax, written correspondence or in person. Correspondence must include the following:
