Share Certificate Accounts
Share Certificates are flexible, safe investments that pay you a guaranteed rate of interest for a fixed period of time.
Smart Money Tip – Ladder your certificates, so the certificates reach maturity at different time periods. By varying the term lengths of your certificates you can take advantage of rising or falling rate environments. If you think rates will be falling, lengthen your maturity terms to lock in current higher yielding rates. If you think rates will be rising, shorten your maturity terms so your funds will be available for reinvestment when rates are higher.
Special Advantage Share Certificate Accounts
Advantage Share Certificates allow the certificate holder to take advantage of higher interest rates if the certificate interest rates increase after the initial purchase date. These certificates limit the number of “bump-ups” the certificate holder may take during the length of the certificate term. These “bump-ups” can be taken without any fees or penalties.
