Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union will officially become OC Federal Credit Union on December 9, 2024. This name change is part of a thoughtful decision to simplify our brand by shortening “Ohio Catholic” to “OC,” making it easier to engage with us online in today’s digital space.

FAQ’s Regarding the Name Change:
Your current checks can be used until you need to reorder. The routing and account numbers will remain the same. Current debit and credit cards can be used and will be replaced with the new design as they expire.
1. Why did we change our name?
Our name was too long to be easy to use in a digital world. OC is a shorter way to say Ohio Catholic. We have the same mission to serve our members; we simply have a shorter name.
2. Will the credit union’s ownership or management change?
OC Federal is still a nonprofit federal credit union. Our management will not change, and our current Board of Directors will continue to oversee us.
3. Will my account details or terms change?
Account numbers, routing numbers, balances, and terms of service will remain unaffected.
4. Do I need to take any action to update my information?
You do not need to do anything for your account.
5. Will there be any changes to my debit/credit cards or checks?
You do not need to update cards or checks. As your cards expire, they will be replaced with new designs. Checks can be used until you are ready to reorder.
6. How will this affect online and mobile banking?
Online and mobile banking will operate the same. You will be automatically redirected to our new website from the old website to log in from a browser. We will give you the new website address once it is live on December 9 so you can add it to your website bookmarks. The app will operate the same but may prompt you to install an update.
7. Will there be changes to how I contact the credit union?
Phone numbers will not change. Online chat, messaging through the app, and online banking will remain on the website. Email addresses will change, but the ohiocatholicfcu.com addresses will work for a time.
8. Will my direct deposits and automatic payments be impacted?
Automatic transactions will continue as usual without interruptions.
9. Are there changes to the credit union’s products or services?
Products and services will remain the same.
10. What should I do if I have questions or concerns?
Contact Member Services at (888) 696-4462 or stop in your local branch and talk to the Branch Manager.
11. Will the credit union’s hours of operation change?
Hours and holidays will remain the same. An unrelated change is shortened hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. We will close at 1 PM on Christmas Eve and 4 PM on New Year’s Eve. Holiday hours can be found our website.
12. What happens to my existing loans, mortgages, or credit lines?
Loan terms, interest rates, and repayment schedules remain the same.
13. Will OC Federal still be NCUA insured?
The credit union remains insured, providing continuity of deposit protection.
14. When will the name change officially take place?
Monday, December 9, 2024 is the official date.
15. Will I need to update any automatic bill payments or payroll deposits?
The process will be seamless as routing numbers will not change. You may inform relevant institutions of the name change, but your transactions will not be affected.
16. Will branch locations and ATMs change?
Branches will reflect the name change at Macedonia, Strongsville, Akron, and Canton. We will rebrand our headquarters in Garfield in 2025. ATM access will remain the same on CO-OP, MoneyPass and Alliance One networks, though you will see the name change.
17. Is OC Federal still Catholic?
Yes our field of membership is the same: Any member, employee, and student of a Catholic Diocese in the state of Ohio, including its parishes, schools, services, ministries, organizations, or entities, who has their primary residence in Ohio can join us. Members of the immediate family or household of an Ohio Catholic member as described above who has their primary residence in Ohio. Immediate family is defined as spouse (including widows or widowers), child, sibling, parent, grandparent or grandchild, aunt, uncle, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law. This includes stepparents, stepchildren, step-siblings, and adoptive relationships. Joining the Ohio Catholic Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on providing financial support for Catholic education, makes you eligible for membership when your primary residence is in the state of Ohio.
