Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union is proud to provide financial support to Catholic non-profit organizations and ministries throughout Ohio, including the Saint Benedict Joseph Labre Ministry programs at St. Ignatius High School and Walsh Jesuit High School. This ministry provides high school students, faculty, staff, and invited guests the opportunity to serve the homeless community in downtown Cleveland and Akron.
On Monday, July 24, Ohio Catholic FCU’s Dean Robinson, Catholic Outreach Coordinator, and Mike Wisnor, Vice President of Marketing & Mission, were invited to participate with current and former students and other volunteers from Walsh Jesuit High School.
“As an organization, we are proud to support ministries who are serving those most vulnerable in our society,” notes Dean Robinson. “On this particular night, however, we were blessed to be able to participate and see firsthand the amazing job that the students and volunteers from Walsh Jesuit High School do to help meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the homeless in the Akron area,” adds Robinson.
Although the volunteers distribute essential food, clothing, and personal hygiene items to the homeless, it is time spent in fellowship and prayer that is most cherished by the volunteers and recipients alike. The Saint Benedict Joseph Labre Ministry was developed to affirm the worth and dignity of every individual, and to provide love, comfort, and hope to those most in need.
